The Masters has always been the elite-only event: no qualifiers, no open draw, just the top of the rankings against each other from the first ball.
It was rebranded as the Winmau World Masters in 2025 and became a ranking event at the same time, which raised the stakes considerably. Before that the money did not count toward the Order of Merit.
The format
- Straight knockout played in sets.
- Since 2025 the field is 32, with the top 16 seeded into the first round.
- Eight places are decided by a preliminary round held the day before the main tournament.
How players qualify
- The top of the PDC Order of Merit qualify automatically.
- Since 2025, eight further places come from a preliminary round played the day before.
Fixtures and sessions
How the week is laid out. Sessions are published well ahead and rarely move.

- Afternoon and evening sessions across the weekend, final on the Sunday.
