The Premier League is the tour’s road show. It fills arenas in cities that never otherwise get televised darts, and because it runs weekly for four months it is where casual viewers pick up the sport and the personalities.
It is an invitational, not a ranking event, so the money does not count toward the Order of Merit. What it does count for is exposure, and for a young player a Premier League seat changes a career.
The format
- Eight players. Each night is a knockout: quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final, all played that evening.
- Results feed a league table across the season. Points are earned weekly, and the standings are what the whole thing is really about.
- The top four in the table go through to the play-offs, held at The O2 in London.
How players qualify
- The top four in the PDC Order of Merit are selected automatically.
- Four wildcard places are chosen by the PDC, which is where the arguments come from every January.
Fixtures and sessions
How the week is laid out. Sessions are published well ahead and rarely move.
- One night a week, every Thursday, in a different city.
- Each night runs quarter-finals, semi-finals and a final in a single evening session.
The draw. The eight players are announced in January. Each night has its own quarter-final draw, so the pairings change week to week.

Past winners
The last 10 champions, most recent first. Click a name for their ranking and everything else they have won.
Michael van Gerwen has won the Premier League seven times, more than anyone. Phil Taylor won it six.
How to watch
Shown live in the UK on Sky Sports. That means a Sky Sports subscription, or NOW. The schedule page lists which broadcaster has each event.
Is there a free live stream of the Premier League Darts?
Not a free one, no. In the UK it is live on Sky Sports, so you need a Sky Sports subscription, or a NOW Sports membership (which you can buy by the day) to stream it without Sky. Sites offering a free stream of Sky's coverage are not legal and are a common source of scams and malware.
- On TV: Sky Sports.
- Streaming: the Sky Go app with Sky Sports, or a NOW Sports day or month membership.
- Outside the UK and Ireland: PDCTV streams it, on subscription.
Tickets
